Regions of Russia: Rare books from G.V. Yudin library go on display in Krasnoyarsk Krai

On March 12 - 24 2011 residents of Zelenogorsk (Krasnoyarsk Krai) will have a chance to familiarize themselves with an exhibition of books from rare collections of the Krasnoyarsk Krai State Universal Scientific Library.

More than 150 books and magazines have been put on display within the framework of the exhibition “From the book heritage of Gennady Vasilyevich Yudin (1840-1912)” at the V. Mayakovsky Municipal Library in Zelenogorsk as a part of the Yudin Days celebration. These are mainly books from the second home library of the famous Krasnoyarsk merchant and bibliophile: rare editions spanning 18th – early 20th cc., editions bearing autographs of prominent historical figures. Zelenogorsk residents will have a chance to see travelling books, which traveled to the United States and returned to Krasnoyarsk from the Library of Congress.

The Yudin Days mounted at the library of Zelenogorsk are timed to two memorable dates: March 12 – G.V. Yudin’s birthday, March 31 – the day of his death. The traveling exhibition which showcases rare editions from the Krasnoyarsk Krai State Universal Scientific Library has been launched for the first time.
