IT and Security: Kaspersky Lab obtains patents for new antivirus solutions

The developer of antivirus products, “Kaspersky Lab” has announced about new patents obtained for 10 antivirus technologies.

Registered technologies boost the performance of existing information security systems and improve their efficiency. A case in point, one of technologies enables to verify suspicious software judging on its position in the malware listing, while another one describes a system of adaptive management for mobile device security. In order to minimize network traffic, the number of security updates may be reduced to include only those components actually needed in the specific environment. In addition, a number of patents describe a method of selecting the optimum settings for several applications sharing resources on the same computer, new methods for identifying active spam bots, and also a system that accelerates file scanning during emulation.

Presently the Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property and Trademarks (Rospatent) has registered more than 30 technologies developed by Kaspersky Lab. The patenting authorities in the United States, Russia, China and Europe are currently reviewing more than 60 patent applications filed by Kaspersky Lab. These applications describe unique and innovative technologies in the field of information security.
