World Museums: Mexico unveils the largest museum of fine arts

A museum of fine arts, “Soumaya”, the largest in Latin America, has been unveiled in Mexico.
Museum’s six-story building featuring 6 500 m2 of exhibition space will house a half of the whole collection belonging to the Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim, which numbers more than 66 000 unique exhibits. The bulk of the future exposition is 300 works by French sculptor Auguste Rodin, one of the founders of Impressionism in sculpture.
Visitors will have a chance to admire works by Rubens, El Greco, Leonardo da Vinci, Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Diego Rivera.
The museum of fine arts will open for visitors on March 28. Entrance to the museum will be free.
