Memory of Russia: Vladivostok officially joined the Cities-Heroes and Cities of Military Glory International Alliance

April 22, 2011 the regional center now celebrates another solemn day - Vladivostok officially joined the International Alliance of Cities-Heroes and Cities of Military Glory.

November 4, 2010 Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on conferring the title of City of Military Glory to Vladivostok. On the same day the President solemnly handed over the charter, confirming the proud title of the city, to the head of Vladivostok Igor Pushkarev.

And on April 22 the important charte signed by Dmitry Medvedev, was set on a pedestal at the eternal flame at the Ship's seafront. Only for one night though, because, by the assurance of Pushkarev, "The charter will be exhibited in a museum of the city".

"For courage, endurance and heroism displayed by the defenders of the city in the fight for freedom and independence of the Motherland" have been awarded 30 Russian cities, among which now there are new ones - Vladivostok, Tikhvin and Tver.
