IT and Libraries: 10th International Theoretical and Practical Conference “Digital Age of Culture”

The 10th International Theoretical and Practical Conference “Digital Age of Culture” will run in Krasnaya Polyana, Krasnodar Krai, April 25-29, 2011.

The International Theoretical and Practical Conference “Digital Age of Culture” has been annually held in different cultural and historical centers of Russia. The first conference was organized in 2002, while in 2005 it was held under the aegis of UNESCO.

The conference attracts heads and leading specialists of largest institutions of culture, education and science, as well as representatives of business community. The conference gives a unique chance to leading IT companies to unveil their latest projects intended for culture, education and science sectors.

“Digital Age of Culture” conference aims to define and discuss specific areas of informatization of different branches of culture – libraries, museums, theatres, educational institutions, ensure practical solution of issues arising in this field, familiarize participants with the latest achievements in Computer Technology, IT (creation of electronic resources, operation of digital libraries, data search and storage).

The annual Theoretical and Practical Conference of the Russian Association of Digital Libraries will be mounted as a part of the “Digital Age of Culture” conference.

The conference will address the following issues:

- Intelligent search engines;

- Digital library systems for education (culture and art);

- State catalogue of RF Museum Fund: new solutions and prospects of development;

- Digital libraries;
