“Russian Venture Company” will provide financial and content support for the first English-language online resource which would turn the spotlight on Russia’s IT market, innovations and venture investments East-West Digital News (EWDN).

Content start-up, launched earlier this month, was also backed by the Higher School of Economics, PricewaterhouseCoopers, “Public Opinion” Foundation and Russoft software developer. “EWDN resource is improving the visibility of Russia on radars of investors and entrepreneurs in high-tech market”, believes Alexei Novoseltsev, Director of Innovations and Enterprise Development Department of the Higher School of Economics.

The purpose of EWDN site is to inform the world market about development of Internet technologies and projects, mobile network and telecommunications, digital television, satellite technologies, software development in Russia. In addition, it is going to cover investment and law issues dealing with innovations. In the future the site will feature the Deals section which will enable Russian companies looking for new partners to present themselves and their products.

“Many foreign players are willing to have faith in Russian technological potential, however due to acute shortage of information available in clear language many take Russia as terra incognita, says Adrien Henni, project’s co-founder. – Our goal is to offer the world’s business community complete and unbiased picture of high-tech-industry development in Russia and, in particular, possibilities of involvement of foreign players”.
