Museums of Russia: “Russia’s Golden Map” project unveils a new exhibition at the Tretyakov Gallery

April 22 – June 26, 2011 the State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow) is hosting the 35th exhibition of the Federal Project “Russia’s Golden Map” called “Western European and Russian art of 16th–20th cc. from Kursk A.A. Deyneka State Art Gallery.

The Gallery was founded in 1935, and presently its collection numbers over 8000 exhibits.

The exhibition continues to acquaint visitors with best museum collections of Russian regions. They have a chance to see 60 works of art, including paintings by Russian masters of 18th–20th cc., and works of 16th–19th cc. by Italian, Dutch, French and Swiss art schools from the collection of Kursk A.A. Deyneka State Art Gallery.

The exhibition unveils Western European art of 16th–19th cc. – works by F. Barocci, Giovanni Tiepolo, Charles La Croix.

The section of Russian art of 18th–20th cc. covers works by V.L. Borovikovsky, V.A. Tropinin, I.Ye. Repin, I.I. Levitan, P.P. Konchalovsky, I.E. Grabar.
