Internet resources: Social network for geographers on the horizon

At the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Russian Geographical Society the Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin announced about the launch of a social network intended for geographers.

By launching the social network the Russian Geographical Society aims to attract new members. Vladimir Putin stresses that social networks are popular among the youth, and it will help to draw more attention to activities of Russia’s oldest NGO.

Money needed for creation of the social network will be allocated as grants. Neither the exact investment amount, nor the date of its launch has been announced yet.

Sergei Shoigu is the Head of the Russian Geographical Society, while the Board of Trustees is presided over by Vladimir Putin.
