IT and Society: The Global Information Technology Report ranks Russia 77th

With a coverage of 138 economies worldwide, the Global Information Technology Report 2010 – 2011, ranks Russia 77th in its assessment of the “impact of ICT (Information Communications Technology) on the development process and the competitiveness of nations”.

In 77th place Russia leaves behind Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Senegal and Kenya, but still drops behind Egypt, Kuwait and Gambia.

The list is topped by Sweden, which is followed by Singapore, Finland, Switzerland, United States, Taiwan, Denmark, Canada, Norway and Korea. Last three positions are occupied by Timor-Leste, Burundi and Chad.

Among former Soviet republics, Estonia is ranked No. 26, Kazakhstan – No. 67, Ukraine remains in 90th position, while Kyrgyzstan in 116th place.

The Global Information Technology Report which remains the world’s most comprehensive and authoritative international assessment of the impact of ICT on the development process and the competitiveness of nations, is based on the survey of CEOs and public statistic data.
