IT and Authority: Agreement on provision of e-govt services in St. Petersburg signed

An agreement between the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of Russia and the St. Petersburg City Administration on provision of state and municipal services in electronic form was signed April 4, 2011. Documents were signed by the Minister of Communications and Mass Media Igor Shchegolev and St. Petersburg Governor Valentina Matvienko.

In the presence of the Minister was signed a cooperation agreement between Rostelecom company and St. Petersburg City Administration within the framework of establishment of e-govt regional segment.

Igor Shchegolev stressed that documents were called to complete the task of integration of information systems of St. Petersburg and the federal center. He mentioned that agreements would enable to extend the range of e-govt services rendered to residents of St. Petersburg.

By the order of the Government of the Russian Federation “Rostelecom” has been assigned to perform works in designing, creation and operation of e-government infrastructure. The company has been actively developing cooperation with regions of Russian Federation in order to ensure transition to e-government services. Today there are more than 70 regions of Russia collaborating with Rostelecom company in this field.
