Libraries of Russia: Kazan opens the largest Muslim library in Russia

April 4, 2011 Kazan is opening the library which would bear the name of King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz of Saudi Arabia, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The library will be launched at the facility of the Russian Islamic University.

The library’s book collection features 22 000 titles and around 40 000 storage units. These are books and dictionaries on linguistics, country studies, geography, sociology, political science, economics, computer science, philosophy, logic and psychology; literature on morality, culture, Islamic art, religious creed and law; Qur'anic sciences and interpretation of Qur'an; Hadith and Hadith studies; life of Muhammad and prominent Islamic scholars and figures; as well as children’s Muslim literature.
