66th anniversary of Great Victory: Over 4 million veterans will receive letters of congratulation from the President of Russia

Postal operator of Russia Russian Post will deliver letters of congratulation from the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev addressed to 4,3 million veterans of the Great Patriotic War, workers of home front and survivors of the siege timed to Victory Day. Specially decorated envelopes featuring congratulations of the President of Russia are processed and forwarded in the order of priority. When necessary specialists of Russian Post will specify veterans’ new abode.

In addition, May 9 will be organized mobile post offices, postal kiosks in the sites of official events, where veterans will have a chance to take out a subscription and delivery of favorite newspapers and magazines with a 20% discount. Such a discount is guaranteed by the postal operator within an entire year. In a number of regions participants and veterans of the war will be offered discounts to certain services of “Russian Post”.

Since 1998 “Russian Post” has been participating in an annual congratulation of veterans of the Great Patriotic War launched by the Administration of the President of Russia and has been delivering “Presidential letters” timed to May 9. All in all postmen have delivered more than 41 million letters of congratulation with Victory Day. In 2008 President’s letters of congratulation were delivered to 5,7 million veterans.
