Internet resources: Google unveils YouTube Movies project in Russia

Google’s video sharing site YouTube has unveiled its “Movies” section for Russian-speaking audience.

The section includes legal materials of various channels, which have provided free access to their content. So far the “Movies” section features over 400 full-length films of the film studios “Lenfilm”, “Odesskaya kinostudiya”, Gorky film studio, “Mosfilm” and Star Media company.

Films have been divided into 13 genre categories, which include comedies, dramas, animated and documentary films. Movie companies are planning to regularly update their channels, thus, for example, “Mosfilm” and “Lenfilm” have announced they would add at least one film per day to the “Movies” section.

Earlier YouTube “Movies” sections were launched in the USA and Great Britain.
