IT abroad: New backup device unveiled

Apple has unveiled its new model of Time Capsule, automatic backup device.

Time Capsule includes a wireless 2TB or 3TB hard drive instead of former 500 GB or 1TB varieties.

Time Capsule was introduced in January 2008 and was commercially released a month later. Time Capsule combines functions of Wi-Fi base station and server hard drive and enables to copy data wirelessly.

Time Capsule is designed to work with Time Machine in Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Mac OS X Lion, which is due in July 2011.
