IT and Society: ViewSonic releases world’s first dual-OS tablet

ViewSonic has released the world’s first dual-OS tablet - ViewPad 10Pro that runs both Windows 7 and Android. It allows for an instantaneous switch between the two OSes without turning off the tablet – Android for simple tasks such as Web browsing and Windows 7 for business applications. It is also one of the first tablets to use the latest Intel Oak Trail processor.

ViewPad 10Pro is running the very latest Intel Oaktrail z670 1.5 GHZ internal processor. The tablet has a capacitive multi-touch screen. The new high-speed Intel Oak Trail Processor is optimised for use in tablets and is partnered with 2GB memory, 32GB mSATA storage and a slot for supporting Micro SD card storage of up to 32GB. This model has a built-in Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n wireless networking, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR technology, 3G-modem, USB port, 1,3-megapixel front camera, G-sensor and light sensor.

The device has a Li-pol 3500 mAh battery which enables 1080 playback up to 4.5 hours. In Russia the device’s delivery is expected in July 2011.
