
Regions of Russia: Stavropol Krai Fine Arts Museum stages an exhibition timed to the Day of Russia
June 10, 2011 Stavropol Krai Fine Arts Museum launched an exhibition originating from the private collection of Alexander Kashporov, collector from the town of Blagodarny, Stavropol Krai.
The exhibition was initiated by the fraternal society of Blagodarny district, whose members give great attention to study of historical past of their small homeland.
Alexander Kashporov spends most of his free time exploring history, collecting old icons, coins and decorations.
Around fifty icons, which include icon painting masters of Moscow, Novgorod, Yaroslavl schools spanning 17th – 19th cc., have entered the exposition. Historical heritage buffs and experts will witness a world of classical canonical icon, which like a mirror reflects Russia, its might and a secret of its will.
The second part of the exhibition showcases works by the graduate of Stavropol Art School Andrei Voronin, resident of Blagodarny town, which also belong to the collector.
“Old streets of Blagodarny” and “The Past of Serafimovskoye village” series are based on old historical photos and recollections of A. Kashporov, who believes that “monuments of history and culture link the past with the present, don’t allow us to leave genuine roots, and each and every person must know the history of his small motherland, respect traditions, established by ancestors…”
Series of works created by the artist is very bright, lively and picturesque.
There is no doubt that looking at such artistic historical documents every person will feel pride for the beauty of native lands, take an interest in studying the history of the Fatherland.
