History and Culture: Monuments to Catherine II and Anna Akhmatova to appear in the town of Pushkin

St. Petersburg City Administration has passed resolutions regarding the installation of monuments to the Empress Catherine II and poet Anna Akhmatova.

The monument to Catherine II will be erected in the public garden between Pushkinskaya, Leontyevskaya, Magazeinaya and Oranzhereinaya Streets in the town of Pushkin. The monument to Anna Akhmatova will appear in the area of Tsarskoe Selo Art Gymnasium which bears the name of the poet, Leontyevskaya Str, 17.

Pushkin District Administration has been charged with organizing and holding the unveiling ceremony of monuments. The control over execution of resolutions will take the Vice Governor of St. Petersburg Roman Filimonov.
