History and Culture: Military and Historical Festival “Major maneuvers on Khokhlovka Hills” opens in Perm Krai

On July 24, 2011 Perm Krai is opening a Military and Historical Festival “Major maneuvers on Khokhlovka Hills”.  Today “Major maneuvers in Khokhlovka Hills” is the only one military and historical festival held in Perm Krai. Festival 2011 impresses by its subject scope (18th c. – beginning 20th c.) and participants.

Festival will bring together military and historical re-enactment clubs from Perm, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kirov, Izhevsk, Yekaterinburg, Orenburg, Astana, Shadrinsk, Pervouralsk, Ufa, and also “Cavalry” equestrian club (Perm).

Festival’s program includes: performances, “seeing off”, re-enactment of the mode of life of the camp and maneuvers of the Russian army in the early 20th century, while the centerpiece of the festival is the re-enactment of the battle of the Great Patriotic War.
