IT and Society: “E-appointment” project mounted in Tula Region

A chance to make an appointment to see the doctor has been today presented to people of the town of Kireevsk (Tula Region). This is the third regional health facility to provide electronic appointment service. The services are also available on special terminals installed in public places.

“E-appointment” project is implemented in Tula Region in accordance with the regional program of public health modernization. Total allocated funds for 2011-2012 reach almost 6 billion rubles. By the end of the year the e-appointment services will become commonplace for 55 regional medical institutions.

Tula region has been mastering modern technologies with success. Thus, the ambulance service of Uzlovsky District has moved to navigation satellite systems – 200 000 rubles have been appropriated from the local budget to equip 11 ambulance vehicles. In Leninsky District pensioners can attend free courses to master computer skills.

"As for today Tula region offers a whole range of govt and local services online”, the Deputy Governor Tatyana Posternak said. – Among them – licensing of professional activities, citizens’ social support, registry office services, online library access. The list is constantly growing".
