IT and Archives: Gosteleradiofond teams up with INA in efforts to digitize its archives

The meeting of the Deputy Minister of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Alexander Zharov with representatives of the State Fund of TV and Radio Programs “Gosteleradiofond” and National Audio-Visual Institute (INA) of France took place at the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of Russia on July 14, 2011. High on the agenda was cooperation between Gosteleradiofond and INA in digitization of Russian Fund’s archives and making use of INA expertise by Russian specialists.

Organizations will work out a schedule for two years with specific co-operation events. There was reached an agreement which reads that in November 2011 INA specialists will hold a workshop for Gosteleradiofond staff.

The parties have come to the conclusion on the necessity of regular (at least once a half-year) discussion of this subject at the level of Ministries of both countries.

The National Audio-Visual Institute – is one of the world’s leaders in electronic archiving, sole state institution of France that provides conservation of all French TV programs, and the leading educational institution that trains specialists in the field of digital archiving.
