Libraries of Russia: Innovation skills to be imparted to the youth in Lipetsk

In Lipetsk at the facility of the Regional Scientific Library has opened a resource center for promotion of creative and innovation skills among the youth. The regional repository keeps lots of information resources represented by books and e-carriers that can further innovation development of the regional economics. The center’s opening attracted representatives of industrial enterprises, institutes of higher education, and scientific societies.

- Lipetsk Regional Scientific Library has a great information potential, - commented the Head of the Department for Innovation, Industrial Policy and Transport of Lipetsk Oblast Anatoly Goltsov. – And I am glad that librarians were positive about our initiative on foundation of such a center. More than that, they have worked out its development strategy regarding innovation development of the region and activities of the youth.

Great hopes are pinned on this center in terms of innovation development of the youth. This necessity has been determined by the fact that the region with high scientific and technical potential faces the shortage of young people occupied with technological innovations.

Foundation of the center will broaden the scope of library and information services for the youth and attract to the library the new generation of patrons oriented toward acquiring technical professions.
