Internet and Law: Amendments introduced to certain RF legislative acts regarding Internet

Russian senators have introduced amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation in view of adoption of the Federal Law “On Information, Information Technologies and Protection of Information".

The law regulates RF legislation in the field of Information Technologies, tightens the requirements for data protection, increases liability for the infringement in this field, said the Chairperson of the Council of Federation’s Commission for Information Policy Lyudmila Narusova.

At the 299th meeting the Council of the Federation introduced amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation in view of adoption of the Federal Law “On Information, IT and Protection of Information”. Determined are the terms "information processes", "information, with regard to which there is a confidence requirement", "means for provision of automated information systems and their technologies", "data user (consumer)", "Information and Telecommunications network, access to which is not limited by a certain group of persons", "Information and Telecommunications network "Internet".
