History of Russia: “History in Faces” Photo Exhibition in Saratov Region

August 24, 2011 at the Center of German Culture in the city of Engels opens "History in faces" exhibition. The project is timed to the 70th anniversary of the date of the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of 28 August 1941 "On the resettlement of Germans living in the Volga Region."

The aim of the project is to organize an exhibition of photo portraits of veterans - the Russian-Germans who had survived deportation and years of severe repression, but preserved and swept through the years love for their culture, and their descendants, people who have made significant contributions to science, history and culture of Russia.

The "History in faces" exhibition will feature black and white photographs made in the genre of psychological portrait. This exposition is a bridge between generations, a reminder of the past for all.
