Information technology and culture: 3D models of cultural heritage sites of Moscow created

Moscow Department of Cultural Heritage (Mosgornasledie) intends to create three-dimensional digital models of a number of cultural heritage sites by the end of 2011.

According to the department, among the sites are, in particular, groups of homesteads "Kuzminki" and "Kuskovo", Mariinsky hospital on Dostoevsky Street and the estate "Grachevka" on Klinskaya Street.

"44 buildings and structures that make up these sites are subject to computer modeling and three-dimensional visualization ", - noted Mosgornasledie.

"Three-dimensional digital models of cultural heritage sites known to Muscovites will be ready before the end of the year", - added the department’s representatives.
