Exhibitions: Reportage photographs in “East-West. Face to face” exposition in St. Petersburg

In Ioannovsky Ravelin of Peter and Paul Fortress (St. Petersburg), August 11, 2011 opened a photo exhibition "East-West. Face to Face".

This is a solo exhibition of Tatyana Fedorova, featuring 50 reportage photographs taken by the author during her numerous trips to Europe, Asia and Africa from 2005 to 2010. The idea of ​​the project is to show the unity of the world, a mirror image of the East and West, captured by camera.

Since 2004, Tatiana Fedorova’s photographs have been displayed at numerous exhibitions in Russia and abroad: in Greece and Finland.

In October 2006, three photograph by the master were displayed at the exhibition "Different people: how alike they are" among the 100 best works of photographers of Moscow and St. Petersburg. In October 2009, Tatiana Fedorova became the first winner of photo contest "Russian Finland - Finnish Russia" in the category "Finnish Russia" for a series of works "Tales of our yard."

The exhibition at the Peter and Paul Fortress displays photos representing dynamic pair photos on the same subject, each of which presents a single opinion about events, situations, people of East and West. The photos feature children in Norway and Yemen, motorcyclists in Europe and Asia, honeymooners of Petersburg and Tashkent, the clergy of the North and South. Photographer, drawing parallels between two cultures, two worlds, finds much in common between them. Most of the works of the exhibition are displayed for the first time.
