Internet resources: 463 million websites operate in the Internet

The analyst firm Netcraft has published the August report of the number of web sites operating in the Internet. According to the company, in August, the statistical systems of Netcraft received responses from 463,000,317 websites and personal blogs. The report says that a significant monthly increase of  sites was provided by several major Western Internet providers and hosts, in particular Softlayer, AmeriNOC, China Telecom, as well as social sites Tumblr, Skyrock and Hyves.

Netcraft pays a particular attention to the rise of popularity and the number of projects serviced by Amazon Web Services and its cloud project EC2, or Elastic Compute Cloud. And most of all websites are created on the platform Apache.
