Information technology and Russian regions: New IT strategy 2012-2017 program approved in Bashkiria

In Bashkortostan, was adopted a new IT strategy for 2012-2017 program.  According to a spokesman for the republic's government Paul Samoilin, its priorities are to provide electronic services to the residents of the republic, business circles and government.

During the first stage of 2012-2013, it is proposed to develop concepts and programs to achieve strategic goals. During the second stage of 2014-2017 all priority projects in the field of information and communication technologies are to be implemented.

"Already the next year new technologies will be introduced - said P. Samoilin. - To improve the quality of life of citizens of the republic, 70 types of public services will be available in electronic form. By the end of 2012 32 services will be provided in digital format; in 2013 - 54, and in 2014 - 70. Accessibility of public services will be guaranteed by a network of 1200 public access centers."

Implementation of the program will be evaluated in accordance with indicators similar to those of the federal index of readiness of Russian regions for informational society. According to available data, the composite index of readiness of Bashkortostan for the informational society equaled to 51st place, and among the subjects of the Volga Federal District – 10th place.
