IT and Culture: New exhibits and 4D equipment to appear at museums of Moscow

Within the next five years Moscow authorities are going to equip museums and exhibition halls of the city with 3D and 4D facilities, as well as exhibits which can be touched, informed Sergei Khudyakov, the Head of Moscow Culture Department.

At the meeting of Moscow government he presented the draft of the program “Culture of Moscow for 2012-2016”, which implies the development of cultural space of the capital as the world’s political, financial and cultural center. The program is also called to promote the development of infrastructure of cultural institutions and make cultural welfare and services more accessible.

“At eight museums we are planning to introduce multimedia and interactive exposition blocks with 3D and 4D visualization facilities”, S. Khudyakov said at the meeting.

What is more, 12 museums of the city will put on show exhibits which are not prohibited to touch, every second museum will introduce virtual museum expositions, while at 70% of museums – electronic audio tours and information electronic stalls will be available.
