Libraries and Youth: 11th International conference “Through Libraries to the Future” in Sochi

From September 19 through September 25, 2011 in Sochi is running 11th International conference “Through Libraries to the Future”. This year the theme is “Positive self-fulfillment of the modern youth: the role of library in shaping values and social involvement”.

The principle goals of the conference are: to work out directions and mechanisms of library performance in promotion of literature of spiritual and moral and aesthetic nature; to encourage consolidation of libraries and all concerned in efforts to elaborate specific steps to promote spiritual and moral literature among the youth; to define the place of Information Technologies in giving the youth access to highly artistic literature; and to oppose distribution of immoral literature.

Among partners of the conference are magazines “Library”, “Library Science”, “Modern Library”, “School Library”, newspapers “Library at school” and “Kuban writer”, and websites www.ifapсоm.ru and krkrub.kubannet.ru.

Together with the conference will run the exhibition of information products and services, books, magazines and other publications. Best methodological and bibliographic publications will be awarded special prizes and souvenirs.
