Memory of Russia: International Military and Historical Festival “Kulikovo Field”

15-18 September 2011 takes place International Military and Historical Festival “Kulikovo Field” (Tatinki village, Kimovsk district, Tula region) marking the 631st anniversary of the Battle of Kulikovo.

Military and historical reconstruction clubs of Russia and the CIS (Pskov, St. Petersburg, Vyborg, Samara, Kazan, Belgorod, Voronezh, Penza, Astrakhan, Izhevsk, Novgorod, Serpukhov, Tula, Ivanovo, Kharkov, Kiev and other cities) will meet near Tatinki fords, where the army of Dmitry Donskoy crossed the river on the eve of the battle. During a few days, the festival participants will be offered various competitions and events: equestrian contests, competitions in fencing and medieval all-round events, attended by masters of sword, ax, spear, and archery. Individual battles and massive fights, contests of historic cuisine, costume and armor, historical fair, one after another, the festival will allow representatives of the various areas of military-historical movement to find something interesting for everyone.

18 September on the Kulikovo Field will meet students of historical faculties of the central regions of Russia, to take part in the program "Keepers of the future." Historians beginners in theatrical form will get to know the cultural heritage of the Battle of Kulikovo.
