8 September 2011

The company Adobe Systems has announced a new software Carousel, designed for photo editing and sharing image files on desktop PCs, smart phones and Tablet PCs. Carousel is a commercial SaaS application announced at Photoshop World 2011, held in Las Vegas 7 to 9 September 2011. The application is located in the cloud computing of Adobe, but can operate through the applications, which exist only in versions for Mac, iPad, and iPhone / iPod Touch.

Carousel is based on Adobe Lightroom technology and allows you view, modify and provide access to the photographic collection without having to sync data manually or store it locally. Since the application is completely cloudy, access to it is available from any computer, if it belongs to the supported platforms.

Adobe calls the technology, implemented in Carousel, Smart Mesh. It provides equitable access to opportunities for editing and multiuser managing of digital photos from different devices. The product supports group work that allows multiple users to create both their own private photo collections, and shared photo collections the access to which is open to other group members. Besides, there is no need to manually synchronize the photos.

In the first half of 2012 Windows and Android versions of Carousel are expected.
