Internet resources: Google Street View gets inside

31 October 2011

Google Corp. has launched a pilot project which enables users of its Google Maps service to discover streets in the cities, and also “peep into” different public institutions. The new feature introduced in Street View is to be implemented step-by-step. Currently the service offers several interiors of London public institutions where users can go for a virtual stroll.

Unlike the street variant of Street View, the new option of the project is voluntary. The company says that the idea of Street View inside was born during the work under Google Art Project, which allows taking a stroll in 17 museums of the world.

At first, Street View inside projects are said to appear in London, Paris, several cities of Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the Unites States.
