Internet resources: Yandex is one of the five world most popular search engines

According to the comScore analytic company, Yandex service is one of the five most popular search engines in the world.

In accordance with the “Top 10 search properties by searches conducted” report, for September 2011 the Russian service occupies the fifth place in the world by a number of processed search queries. A year ago Yandex was on the sixth place, in September 2009 - the seventh. The first position is traditionally occupied by Google.

The second place belongs to the largest Chinese search engine Baidu. Also among the first five resources addressed with the greatest number of queries are Yahoo! and Microsoft. It is remarkable that Yahoo! search uses the technology of Bing service developed by Microsoft.

According to comScore, in September 70% of all the queries was addressed to Google. During the same period users addressed Yandex over 3 billion times which is about 1.7% of the total share of quieries.
