Libraries and Education: Interregional Theoretical and Practical Conference “Library and University: Aspects, Problems and Prospects for Cooperation” launched in Stavropol

October 24 – 29 2011 the North Caucasus State Technical University (Stavropol) is holding the Interregional Theoretical and Practical Conference “Library and University: Aspects, Problems and Prospects for Cooperation”.

The conference is pursuing the following goals and objectives:

Familiarize participants with innovation and library and information activities undertaken by university libraries electronically and other aspects of library and information services supporting educational process.

The conference addresses the following issues:

- innovation processes at libraries;

- reference and bibliographic and information backing of science and education;

- role of library in shaping information and cultural environment at university;

- practice of organization and deployment of electronic resources at libraries;

- efficiency assessment of library’s performance and quality management;

- user’s information needs and information behavior, interaction in “patron-librarian” system;

- librarian’s communicative competence and expertise.
