Information technology and education: Over 70% of schools of Murmansk region introduce electronic school record books

In 34 educational institutions of 12 municipalities of the Murmansk region was carried out an experiment in the area of "Building an education-social network of new generation" Dnevnik.Ru." As a result, 73% of the region's educational institutions are implementing electronic school record books. As a result of the introduction of information technologies in educational processes of institutions of secondary education, the proportion of lessons conducted by use of ICT increased up to 25.5%.

In 2011 in the Murmansk region was launched a long-term target program "Development of information society and e-government in the Murmansk region in 2011-2013."

The main objective of the program is a comprehensive implementation of information technologies in various spheres of social life. Within the first nine months of the execution of the Program in 2011 there have been significant changes in several areas, including education: all educational institutions and institutions of primary and secondary vocational education have broadband Internet access, 121 municipal kindergartens are connected to the Internet which allowed fully connect to the internet all the regional preschool education institutions.

All educational institutions in the region (including kindergartens, schools, orphanages, institutions of complementary education for children of primary and secondary vocational education, etc.) are provided with licensed software. There was signed a government contract for the supply of a system of personalized content filtering in schools and orphanages in the region that will protect children from the spread of information harmful to their moral and spiritual development while working with Internet resources.
