Society and Culture: International Theoretical and Practical Forum “Slavic World. Dialogue of Cultures” in Kemerovo

The International Theoretical and Practical Forum “Slavic World. Dialogue of Cultures” is opening on October 17th 2011. It will be launched at the facilities of Kemerovo State University of Culture and Arts, F. M. Dostoevsky Omsk State University, and University of Szczecin (Poland). Forum has been co-organized by Russkiy Mir Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of Russia.

The purpose of the forum is to address the study of the Slavic world in cultural, historical and social aspects, define the role of Slavic languages, literature and art in shaping ethnic and cultural consciousness while globalization, identify main concepts of intercultural communication.

The program of the forum features a series of scientific and educational events focused on preservation of traditions of Slavic cultures, and integration and identification of ethnic groups in modern multicultural world.

On October 17 2011 as a part of the forum is running the Theoretical and Practical Conference “Slavic World” (Kemerovo State University of Culture and Arts, F. M. Dostoevsky Omsk State University, Faculty of Culture and Arts).

The Theoretical and Practical Conference “Dialogue of Cultures” (Kemerovo State University of Culture and Arts) is scheduled for October 18 2011.

The Theoretical and Practical Workshop “Homo Communicans: individual and cross-cultural communications” (Institute of Slavic Studies of the University of Szczecin) is due on October 22 2011.

The International Forum has attracted scholars from Russia, Poland, Croatia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Moldova, France, Kazakhstan, and China. Collected research papers focused on study of Slavic traditional culture in historical and present-day context will be issued after the forum.
