Altai State University is setting up a center that will study Pyotr Stolypin’s reforms. The center will be set up at the university’s History Faculty. The scope of its activities will be rather wide. It will attract not only historians, but also anthropologists, biologists, sociologists, and land affairs specialists.

The dean of Altai State University History Faculty - Eugenia Demchik - said that such research centers had never been set up east of the Urals before.

What is more, staff members of the center are going to build the most complete library dedicated to Pyotr Stolypin.

Every year Altai Krai holds a theoretical and practical conference focused on Pyotr Stolypin’s reforms. Notes, the Prime Minister of the Russian Empire made after his inspection tour to Volga Region and West Siberia, are to be published in Altai Krai. In addition to that a monument to “Stolypin’s” immigrants will be installed here.
