One of the publishing houses in Slovenia has created an electronic textbook for primary school. Handbook for the study of the environment has already passed the licensing procedure and is completely ready for use in primary schools of the country.

As reported by the authors of the project, access to the electronic textbook is free of charge via the Internet at the publisher site. According to it, more than 60, 000 people have already looked at the textbook.

Developers tried to make it so that the children using it would have most interesting classes. The textbook is structured so that students learned the world around them playing, traveling with different characters around Slovenia. During these "trips" they could get acquainted with the nature of their country. On the electronic pages of the textbook there are many photographs, videos and even records of various natural sounds.

The textbook was created within the "Electronic School" project, supported and funded by the European Union, in particular, by the EU Social Fund. The Fund will allocate 20 million euros for this project until the end of 2013. In addition to the textbook "The world around us", within the project there will also be developed more than 150 e-textooks for various school subjects.

"Development of quality e-textbooks is the most correct approach to the modernization of the educational process," - said the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Republic Igor Luksic introducing a new manual.
