IT and Libraries: “Development of Library Collections amid Electronic Information Technologies Advance” conference underway in Novosibirsk

Regional Theoretical and Practical Conference “Development of Library Collections amid Electronic Information Technologies Advance” is running November 22-24 2011 at Novosibirsk State Technical University.

The purpose of the conference is to determine the place and the role of libraries in information structure of universities.

Participants of the conference are going to discuss issues concerning integration of libraries with universities’ information systems, and how to optimize development, preservation and management of library collections on various carriers.

The conference will feature:

- a plenary session;

- a roundtable discussion “Urgent Problems of Development of Library Collections”;

- a section “University’s eLibrary as a Part of Information Infrastructure of Educational Environment”;

- stand reports.

The conference has invited library staff members, specialists of information centers, publishing houses, teachers and staff of educational institutions.
