Presidential Library joined the World Digital Library conference

November 14-15 2011 the delegation of the Presidential Library headed by its Director General Alexander Vershinin visited Munich to take part in a conference of the World Digital Library (WDL).

During the forum the Director of the World Digital Library - John Van Oudenaren - made a report on library’s achievements in important projects of the past year and announced key targets for the future. An important issue of the agenda became the discussion of mechanisms of digital content building, and improvement of technical equipment.

The World Digital Library – a project of the Library of Congress – provides a free online access to a large collection of materials which represent cultures of different countries of the world. It was officially launched on April 21 2009.
