Now Russian pupils may freely listen to audiobooks featuring those on school curriculum which are read by famous Russian artists. Audiobooks are available on a new Аудиохрестоматия.рф (English: Audio-library) website, said Sergei Skomorokhov, the project’s founder and Director General of “Art-Piter” group of companies.

He stressed that the project’s purpose was not to displace books and reading: “We hope that listening to books will promote reading among children. In the childhood the love for reading and literature was initially fostered by our parents, as they read fairy tales at night, and after that we began reading ourselves. We are looking forward to the same effect”, Sergei Skomorokhov explained.

Vitaly Groznov, Director General of Index Communications Agency, says that “literature which can be now accessed on the portal is intended for pupils of 1-4 forms”. The complete audiolibrary for school curriculum will be available at the beginning of the next school year and will total over 1 000 titles.

Аудиохрестоматия.рф” web resource which is a part of Все-знания.рф (English: All knowledge) project, has been backed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. A part of the portal dedicated to literature has undergone testing and approbation and has been launched in operating mode. The portal is expected to include lessons from school curriculum led by famous actors, scholars, sportsmen, entrepreneurs and officials.
