Regions of Russia: Exhibition of Salvador Dali lithographs in Nizhny Novgorod

Exhibition of Salvador Dali lithographs from a private Italian collection opened December 22, 2011 in the Nizhny Novgorod Art Museum.

The exposition features 105 lithographs of the artist from a private Italian collection. The lithographs were created on the initiative of the Italian billionaire Giuseppe Albaretto in 1960s as the illustrations of the new Bible edition. 

This is the largest graphical series of the painter. It was him who chose the Bible subjects for this graphical series. The artist used his favorite mixed technique combining watercolor, gouache, Indian ink, pastel, pencil. Then Dali transformed his works into lithographs.

The museum representatives say this exhibition is really unique giving a chance to the residents of Nizhny Novgorod to see with their own eyes the works of the famous artist.

The exhibition will be open through February 19, 2012.
