Exhibitions: New updated exposition “The Academic Museum” kicks off in St. Petersburg

On December 22nd 2011 the Russian Academy of Fine Arts Museum is staging a new updated permanent exposition “The Academic Museum” which showcases paintings and sculptures of Russian and European masters of 16th – 19th cc.

Best examples of Russian academic school from the museum collection – paintings by K. Bryullov, V. Polenov, I. Repin, I. Shishkin, I. Myasoedov, A. Arkhipov, along with masterpieces of European art by Reyer van Blommendael, Guercino, Luca Giordano, Angelica Kauffman, Gregorio Lazzarini – are displayed in updated halls.
