Regions of Russia: New “Human and City” exhibit marks 350th anniversary of Irkutsk

International art exhibition “Human and City” which marks 350th anniversary of Irkutsk is running December 14th – 25th 2011. It has attracted over 250 artists from 10 countries of Europe and Asia. Expo areas of “SibExpoCenter” exhibition hall showcase over 600 works of different types and genres – from paintings, graphic works and sculpture to installations and video art.

What is more, December 15th will see the launch of a two-day theoretical and practical conference. The exhibition is as a part of celebrations marking 350th foundation anniversary of Irkutsk marked this year, and its participants are going to study the culture of the old city in the context of art of 17th – early 21st cc.

The conference will be held at Irkutsk Art School, which has recently celebrated its centenary.
