IT and Education: Interactive exhibition “Children surfing Internet” underway in Moscow
From December 8th 2011 to February 12th 2012 the Polytechnical Museum (Museum) is holding an interactive exhibition called “Children surfing Internet” which features lessons of useful and safe Internet intended for young schoolchildren.
The concept of the exhibition rests upon interactivity principle: children are free to discover the world of Internet, which is represented in the exhibition hall, learn the behavior rules on the Internet, and play games. The partnership with the Polytechnical Museum has enabled to display exhibits related to the history of data transmission – from printing to the latest means of telecommunication.
Small visitors will have a chance to join a quest and become real Internet users, while adults will learn more about technological tools aimed for protection of their children from negative Internet content.
The exhibition will run lessons of useful and safe Internet for schoolchildren of 2nd-4th forms. The purpose of such a lesson is to bring up literate and responsible Internet users, and familiarize children with basic rules for safe Internet.
Lessons will also run in winter 2011-2012 in a number of schools of Moscow.
