IT and Libraries: Theoretical and Practical Conference on ICTs at libraries runs in Orenburg

On December 7th–8th 2011 Krupskaya Regional Scientific Library in Orenburg is running the Interregional Theoretical and Practical Conference “On the Path to Information Society: Use of Information and Communication Technologies – New Opportunities for Libraries”. The conference gives a chance to learn about innovation theoretical developments and experience of regional libraries in this area, elaborate a strategy for deployment of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) at libraries of Orenburg Region. The conference addresses the following issues: urgent problems of modern technologies’ implementation at libraries of Russia; the role of ICTs in the system of training and advanced training courses for librarians.

The conference has brought together librarians from Russia (Kemerovo, Orenburg, Samara, Chelyabinsk) and Kazakhstan (Kostanay, Uralsk): directors of regional and university libraries, leading librarians who head innovative projects.
