6 December 2011

Timed to the 17th General Assembly of UNESCO’s International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), the “Russian Kremlins” exhibition, which opened on November 29th 2011 at the “Russian House” in Paris, will now travel to different cities of France.

As a part of “Russian Kremlins” exhibition at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Paris (France) the delegation of Pskov Region presented Pskov Kremlin ensemble. Thirty chart boards, each of them corresponding to the description of Pskov Kremlin in an application for its inclusion into UNESCO’s World Heritage List, were prepared specially for this exhibition.

Along with Pskov Kremlin other applicants for inclusion into the World Heritage List in “Russian Kremlins” nomination are Kremlins of Astrakhan and Uglich, which too went on display as a part of the exhibition at the “Russian House” in Paris. Paris also saw the show of Kazan Kremlin, which along with Moscow’s has been already inscribed on the World Heritage List.

Final decision on inclusion of “Russian Kremlins” nomination in the World Heritage List will be taken at UNESCO’s General Conference in June 2012, which is supposed to kick off in St. Petersburg.
