Information technology and society: Cloud solution Office 365 from Microsoft is now available in Russia

Microsoft Corporation announced the availability of the completely localized beta version of its cloud solution of new generation Office 365 in Russia. From December 1, 2011 any company can freely test the product for 30 days. Besides, Office 365 has a series of important updates improving the possibilities of joint work and united communications.

Office 365 combines Microsoft Office, its “cloud” version and the state-of-the-art tools for joint work and united communications: Exchange Online (mail, calendars, contacts, goals), SharePoint Online (internal informational portal, documents management and external website for information exchange with partners and customers) and Lync Online (instant messages, voice, video and web conferences).

Today Microsoft is releasing over 30 updates for Office 365. Among them the following are available:

- Support Lync for Mac enabling to use a service of exchange of instant messages, status of presence and video conferencing via Office 365 on Apple computers.

- Support of Business Connectivity Services for SharePoint Online providing access to information in key business applications used by the company (for example, CRM system or SAP application).

- Support of Windows Phone 7.5 owing to which, beginning from today, the employees will have an opportunity to edit documents in SharePoint Online using Windows Phone 7.5.
