IT and Education: Schools of Tatarstan start assessing progress in studies electronically
Schools of the Republic of Tatarstan have begun controlling the progress in studies electronically.
Initially the first to enjoy the opportunity of digital class registers became teachers of so-called “IT schools”. So far there are only 54 such schools operating in the Republic. They are being set up not only in Kazan but in every municipal district.
“IT schools” initiative is a part of a project known as “School – center of competence in electronic education” which is underway in the Republic of Tatarstan. Such schools can boast computers and Internet access, while their teachers are actively using modern digital resources in educational process. A project called “One pupil – one PC” is running in such schools, while each classroom is supplied with interactive boards and other pieces of equipment.
New-type schools also serve as a model for disseminating the experience of extensive implementation of electronic system’s methods. They will hold workshops and training sessions, along with training of pedagogues from other educational institutions of the Republic.
As a part of this program, teachers underwent electronic “general compulsory education” course, each teacher received a laptop available at school and at home.
Schools of the Education Ministry of the Republic of Tatarstan are also implementing electronic system for qualifying evaluation of pedagogues.
