“This is the first major exhibition of the celebrated photographer which puts on display master’s famous works, - its curator Natalya Ponomareva said. She added that many of displayed photographs would go on show for the public for the first time. “We wanted to “tell” the story of his photography, - she clarified. – Markov-Grinberg’s works let you discover the history of the country. The earliest photos available at the exhibition date back to the 1920s, while the latest – to the end of the 1960s. The public will see the whole portrait gallery made by the master. These are Maxim Gorky, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Sergei Eisenstein, Yuri Gagarin, Arkadiy Raikin.”

The themes covered by these works are diverse: this is a countryside theme, which attracted particular attention of the photographer in the 1930s, as well as the themes related to aviation, childhood, war and the city. Photos illustrate the half a century long history of our country.
